New Street Photography in Jersey City, New Jersey at the Monticello Avenue Street Festival shot on September 10th, 2016
People enjoying the hot weather, then a downpour and some more sunshine. Although I found that there was a relatively small amount of people in attendance, I expect that will increase dramatically in the future. I also must say I witnessed what I felt was an extremely positive community outreach by the Jersey City Police Department. Well done!

New Street Photography at Washington Square Park shot on August 27th, 2016 One of my favorite places to do Street Photography. Lots of people enjoying the warm weather. Singing, dancing, laying around, running or just sitting, they are subjects for me. To View Gallery Click Here
I NEED this #Canon #5DMarkIV #camera goo.gl/otuzcH Does anyone have some spare change? I'm still using the original Canon 5d, 10 years old and s showing it. I'd really like to be able to shoot in lower light. Also along with my still photography I'm interested in shooting a little video and my original 5d does not shoot video and has terrible noise in low light. Don't know where the money will come from!

Back when I was a young photographer, many many years ago, I would photograph people in the street all the time. Whereas these days it's mostly studio and location work, and commonly with models, not usually candids in the street. Sometimes I miss the freedom it seemingly afforded and I was looking for an opportunity to get back into some informal street photography. Well one day I was going to meet a gathering of other photographers to do some street photography, and I arrived about half hour late (missed my bus into New York City from Hackensack, New Jersey). Needless to say, I didn't meet...
My belief is there is a generally accepted misnomer in the photography world. That misnomer is “editing” when applied to retouching images. As far as I’m concerned, “editing” is the process of finding the best (or worse) images in a group in order to limit the total count of images for display, sale and or retouching, etcetera. A magazine Photo Editor picks the images of a photographer or photographers to display with an article, story or gallery, he doesn’t retouch the images (hopefully). Retouching is the process of refining an image in “post” after the image was taken. Of course...
In studio, shot with continuous light. Beautiful model / musician, who did her own makeup. Comments are welcome. Shot in studio with model seated, lighting was almost equal from softboxes Right and Left of model. Canon 5d, EF70-200mm f2.8L USM @ 200mm, iso 100, 1/100 sec @ f/2.8
Yesterday, leaving PhotoPlus 2013 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan New York City. Saw some software and a lot of hardware I would like to get but can't afford ( camera, tripod, soft boxes and other light modifiers).
These are two images I shot in a fantastic house on Long Island. The model made several clothing changes and we used different areas of the house. Using multible flash units and reflecters, I directed the light to where I needed it. Post was done in Lightroom and then moved to Photoshop for finishing touches. Comments are always welcome. The first image was shot with model on staircase wearing a corset style top with some strong side lighting. Canon 5d, EF24-70mm f2.8L USM @ 50mm, iso 400, 1/125 sec @ f/2.8 The second image was shot with the model in a closet space wearing...
